A World of Opportunities
As educators and parents we know that reading opens up a world of opportunities for our children and students. The key to transforming them into lifelong learners is not just reading, but a love for reading.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
- Dr. Seuss
Lifelong Journey
Our deep desire at ABC The Key is to ignite this love of learning and reading at an early age. We understand that the quicker and more proficient a student learns to read, the better their academic career will be.
“The educational careers of 25 to 40 percent of American children are imperiled because they don’t read well enough, quickly enough, or easily enough.”- Committee on Preventing Reading Difficulties in Young Children of the National Research Council, 1998.
How does this lifelong reading journey start? It begins first with learning the ABC’s and the sounds they make together to create words.
ABC The Key
ABC The Key is based on the Orton-Gillingham phonogram system which includes several instruction elements including: multi-sensory, phonetic, synthetic/analytic, structured, cumulative, cognitive, and repetition. (Read more of our Scientific Research here)
In layman’s terms ABC The Key uses a variety of proven methods to teach your students how to read. The bonus is not only will they learn to read, but also have fun doing it.
Teachers have already discovered that ABC The Key is easy to implement, has effective results in reading, and saves time in preparation and planning.
As educators and parents we recognize you’re doing a great job in teaching children to read and to love doing it. In fact 46% of 4th graders read for fun each day in 2011 (report). This shows improvement over the previous years, but we still have a long way to go.
The ABC The Key team is honored to join your ongoing efforts in education and instilling a lifelong love of reading and learning to students.
