Miss Jones was born in Fairbanks, Alaska to the decorated WWII & Korean War airman and adventurous Alaskan pioneer dentist, Dr. J. Lloyd Jones & wife Edna. Miss Jones was raised in the wilds of Alaska and the pristine Pacific Northwest. As an avid lover of the outdoors, she enjoys animals, fishing, boating, art, music, singing, travel, snow & water sports, and SCUBA diving.

During her teen years she was one of the top performers with the Anchorage Civic Ballet. She also performed with a community drama group at the Seattle Center Theater and was one of the top gymnasts in the Pacific Northwest becoming an instructor while still in Junior High.

As a high school junior she traveled with the international singing group, Up With People, performing in over 40 cities throughout the United Sates. Over the years her travels have taken her to 44 states and 9 foreign countries.  

Miss Jones taught in a college-prep academy for 18 years. Her classroom became a demonstration class for the University of Alaska Teacher Trainee program. She was the director of Primary Curriculum Development. She helped several public and private schools develop their reading programs.

Miss Jones has taught English as a second language (ESL) to international adult professionals at North Harris College in Houston, Texas. Her methods have been used across Asia, where students have learned to read and speak English in just a few weeks.

Miss Jones holds the prestigious CELTA Certification through the University of Cambridge, England. (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching Adults)

Miss Jones developed the ABC The KEY program after years of research and testing multiple phonetic methods, some dating back to the early 1700's.

Her gifted teaching ability and unique ABC The KEY program have given her a 100% success rate with the hundreds of students she has personally taught to read. Her students routinely score well above their grade level on national scholastic tests.

Miss Jones believes that students learn best by enjoying real life experiences and that the WORLD is one big classroom. She has proven this through years of academic interaction with children, teens, and adults.

Her colorful background provides the inspiration for the Adventures of Skiddles books and DVD series.
